Collection of personal data
I collect the following personal information:
- Name
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Postal address
If you are eligible for reimbursement through Sygeforsikringen ”danmark”, I will also ask for your Danish CPR number in order to submit your treatment for reimbursement.
In addition, I collect information about your health and other sensitive personal data that are relevant to your treatment.
To protect your privacy, please do not send sensitive personal information, including health information, via ordinary email. Such information should only be sent using encrypted email.
Secure email communication
To protect your privacy, I use encrypted email whenever we exchange information about your health or other sensitive matters. I use Proton Mail for secure communication.
If you already have a Proton Mail account, all communication between us is automatically encrypted.
If you do not have a Proton Mail account, you are still welcome to contact me. However, your first email should not contain sensitive personal information. Simply let me know that you would like to be contacted. I will then reply using an encrypted email, which you can open using a password that I will send to you separately.
This ensures that your personal information is handled confidentially and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Purpose of processing your personal data
Your personal information is processed in order to:
- contact you regarding appointments
- register and manage your treatment in the booking system
- provide psychological assessment and therapy
- maintain clinical records in accordance with professional and legal requirements
- comply with applicable legal obligations, including Danish bookkeeping legislation
Clinical records
As a psychologist, I am legally required to keep clinical records. After each session, I prepare a clinical note to ensure continuity of care and to provide treatment that meets professional standards.
You have the right to access your clinical records at any time. If you believe any information is inaccurate, you may request that your comments be added to the record. However, the original clinical notes cannot be altered or deleted.
Confidentiality and disclosure of information
As a psychologist, I am bound by professional confidentiality. This means that everything you share with me is treated as confidential and will not be disclosed without your consent.
In certain exceptional circumstances, Danish law may require me to disclose information, for example, if there are serious concerns about the welfare of a child or if there is a significant risk of harm to yourself or others. Whenever possible, I will discuss this with you beforehand.
Information will only be shared with your GP, municipality, insurance provider, or other relevant professionals with your consent. I will always discuss with you what information, if any, is to be shared.
Storage and deletion of personal data
Your clinical records and personal information are stored securely in the GDPR-compliant practice management system TerapeutBooking, to which only I have access.
Your clinical records are retained for five years after your treatment has ended and are then securely deleted unless legal requirements or exceptional circumstances require a longer retention period.
Your contact information will be deleted when it is no longer relevant, while accounting records are retained for five years in accordance with Danish bookkeeping legislation.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information I hold about you. To do so, simply contact me by email.
If you have concerns about how your personal information is being processed, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.
